ATABEY was a 2022 Burning Man Honoraria installation by Puerto Rican artist NiNo — the same creator who brought the beloved MÚCARO wooden owl to the Playa.
Built from repurposed steel and recycled silver pizza pans, ATABEY depicted the Taíno goddess of the earth and freshwater in monumental form.
A deep-Playa piece, ATABEY glowed from across the flat desert like a signal fire.
