Axis Mundi — Burgundy

Clark Stoeckley designed this mandala series for 2026, channeling the Burning Man theme's "cosmic, centering energy" into Islamic geometry-inspired patterns. He gifted 500 sticker packs — these mandalas paired with humorous and political stickers — to burners across Black Rock City, calling the reactions when people opened them one of his favorite moments of the Burn. Stoeckley is a repeat Burning Man muralist (work on the playa in 2009, 2010, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2024) and a longtime geometric abstract painter, currently an Associate Professor of Art & Graphic Design at the American University of Kuwait.
