BRC Municipal Airport – Year?

Black Rock City has a real airport. FAA identifier 88NV. Two 6,000-foot runways scraped into the dry lakebed. On busy arrival days it ranks among the hundred busiest airports in the United States. Burning Man has welcomed pilots since 1991, when early aviators simply landed wherever they judged best and the city grew up around their planes. The airport was formally founded in 1999 by pilot Lissa Shoun, and by 2004 it had an official manager, facilities team, and volunteer coordinator.
