Burners Unite

This sticker was made for a Facebook group gift exchange called Can't Find My Way Home — a swag swap event organized by burners for burners during the years when Burning Man was canceled or limited by COVID. The group name says it all: we are people who belong somewhere, and that somewhere is currently closed.

Burners Unite is a rallying sticker born from absence. It is the kind of thing you make when you cannot go to the place but you still need to connect with the people. A small piece of community infrastructure — the gift economy operating through the mail, across a pandemic, between people who have never met in person but share a city they both call home.
