Burning Man 2007

The Green Man. That was the 2007 Burning Man theme — humanity's relationship to nature, the environment, the planet we are currently dismantling at speed. The official poster was designed by Dominic Tinio. The Earth Guardians volunteer group distributed thousands of Greening Man stickers across the Playa, part of a year when environmental consciousness was embedded into the event's central narrative.

The 2007 sticker carries the visual language of that year: green energy, ecological urgency, the idea that Burning Man could model something about how humans might exist differently on the planet. Whether it succeeded is a debate the community has been having ever since. The sticker is from the year the conversation started in earnest.
