Burning Man 2020 Canceled

This sticker was designed during the early weeks of COVID, when the necessities of the pandemic — toilet paper, masks — had become the defining symbols of a world in crisis. The creator took the Burning Man logo and wrapped it in those symbols: TP and mask applied directly to the iconography of the event. Then they printed it and started sending copies to other burners.

Burning Man 2020 was canceled. In its place came Multiverse, a virtual event. But this sticker is not about the virtual event — it is about the moment of cancellation, the specific absurdity of losing the burn to a pandemic. It is a document of a very strange year, made by someone who needed to make something about it and then give it away.
