BMIR KOME

Rocky's annual BMIR sticker series celebrates the great, weird, irreverent radio stations of American history — and KOME 98.5 FM was one of the best. KOME broadcast from San Jose, California from 1971 to 1998, building a devoted South Bay rock audience through irreverence, raunchy humor, and freeform music programming that eventually got reined in by corporate consultants in 1982. Its stickers were on high school lockers across the Bay Area. Its tagline was unforgettable. Pairing KOME with BMIR makes complete sense: two stations that earned their loyalty.
