The Greeters are the first people you meet when you enter Black Rock City. Exuberantly costumed, wackily attired (or sometimes not attired at all), they welcome every participant with a booming Welcome home! — a tradition that started in the early days of Burning Man and has become one of its most enduring rituals.
By 2003, the Greeters were organized enough to run on-Playa training, help theme camp residents find their spots, and distribute maps, camera tags, and answers.
The sticker is their badge. You earned it by arriving.
