In the middle of the Nevada desert, in the middle of one of the world's most ambitious temporary cities, someone decided to build a German beer garden. That is the Black Rock City Biergarten. The 2004 Burning Man theme was Vault of Heaven — celestial, cosmic, full of stars and mystery. And right there on the playa was a camp serving cold beer in a biergarten. The audacity. The logic.
