Sacred Cow

The Sacred Cow sticker comes from 2018, the year Burning Man's official theme was I, Robot — an exploration of humanity's uneasy relationship with artificial intelligence, automation, and the question of what, if anything, still separates a person from a machine.

Made by Clark for the camp of the same name, the sticker shares its title with an old idiom: a "sacred cow" is an idea or tradition treated as too revered to question, a phrase rooted in the reverence cows are given in Hindu tradition. It's a fitting name to bring to a year built around asking uncomfortable questions about what people take for granted — about technology, and about themselves.

It's also a small piece of playa history in its own right: proof that this crew claimed a spot in Black Rock City in 2018 and gave away a bit of their own irreverence for free.
